Privacy Policy

Mojingoo (the "App") is a real-time speech transcription and translation app for iPhone. GAVRRI (the "Provider") respects your privacy and handles your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Basic Policy

The App's core features, speech recognition and translation, use the speech recognition and translation capabilities provided by Apple and are processed on your device whenever possible. Except for the initial language model download, the specifications of the OS and frameworks, and certain features such as advertising, analytics, and billing, the App is not designed to send audio data, transcription text, or translation text to the Provider's own servers. Usage data, advertising-related data, purchase information, and other data sent to third-party services such as Firebase, AdMob, and the App Store are handled in accordance with the respective sections of this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

The App may obtain or process the following information.

  • Microphone input: Audio processed on your device for real-time transcription. Except when you record, save, share, or export, the Provider does not obtain the content of your audio.
  • Transcription and translation text: Text displayed, edited, saved, or exported within the App. If you perform a sharing action, the terms and policies of the destination service will apply.
  • Settings information: Settings necessary to use the App, such as selected languages, display settings, terminology dictionary, and advertising/billing status.
  • Usage data: Event information such as launches, recording start/stop, transcription/translation success or failure, ad displays, and subscription flows. We do not send the body text, translation content, audio file names, or individual conversation content as analytics events.
  • Device and diagnostic information: OS version, app version, device type, crash/error information, and advertising identifier (IDFA, where consent is given under App Tracking Transparency or where permitted by law or platform policy).
  • Purchase information: The purchase, renewal, and cancellation status of subscriptions through the App Store. Payment details themselves are processed by Apple, and the Provider does not obtain credit card numbers or similar information.

3. Purposes of Use

We use the information we obtain for the following purposes.

  • Providing, maintaining, protecting, and improving the App.
  • Providing features such as transcription, translation, export, terminology dictionary, and display settings.
  • Analyzing usage, investigating issues, and improving quality.
  • Delivering ads, measuring ad effectiveness, and adjusting ad display frequency.
  • Providing subscriptions, confirming purchase status, and providing paid features such as ad removal.
  • Responding to inquiries, sending important notices, and addressing violations of the terms or misuse.

4. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following external services to provide features, analytics, advertising, and billing management. Please also review the privacy policies and terms of service provided by each company.

The handling of information by these third-party services is subject to the privacy policies and terms of service of each company.

5. Advertising and Tracking

The App may display ads through Google AdMob and similar services. For ad delivery and effectiveness measurement, the advertising identifier (IDFA), device information, and usage data may be used. If tracking using the IDFA is required, the App will request your permission based on Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. You can change your choices regarding tracking and personalized ads from the iOS "Settings" or, where an in-app consent management screen is provided, from that screen.

6. Subscriptions

The App may offer auto-renewing subscriptions such as Mojingoo Pro. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, etc. are processed through the App Store, and Apple's terms and policies apply. The Provider uses purchase information to the extent necessary to confirm subscription status and provide paid features.

7. Data Storage and Security

The Provider stores the information it obtains only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use and takes reasonable security measures. The App does not currently assume an account registration feature and is not designed to continuously store audio data, transcription text, or translation text on the Provider's own servers. Sessions, recordings, exported files, terminology dictionaries, settings, and other data stored on your device can be deleted by you through in-app operations, your device's file management, or by deleting the App. Analytics, advertising, and purchase-related data stored on third-party services such as Firebase, AdMob, and the App Store are subject to the retention periods and deletion procedures of each service.

8. International Data Transfers

When using third-party services such as Firebase, AdMob, and Apple, information may be processed on servers outside Japan (primarily including the United States). The Provider takes appropriate protective measures as necessary in accordance with applicable laws. Upon your request, we will provide information regarding the legal systems of the destination countries for transfers to third parties abroad, the protective measures taken by the recipients, and other related information, in accordance with the law.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable law, you have the following rights.

  • Right of access: The right to request a copy of your data
  • Right to rectification: The right to request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure: The right to request deletion of your data
  • Right to restriction: The right to request restriction of data processing
  • Right to portability: The right to receive your data in a structured format
  • Right to object: The right to object to certain processing
  • Right to withdraw consent: The right to withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent
  • Right to lodge a complaint: The right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country if you have concerns about data protection

However, for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive, we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on the request.

Response Timeframes

  • EEA/UK residents (GDPR): We will respond within one month of receiving your request. In complex cases, this may be extended by up to three months.
  • If an extension is necessary, we will inform you of this and the reasons within the standard timeframe above.
  • We may request additional information to verify your identity.

10. Use by Minors

Users under the age of 13, or users for whom a higher age threshold is set by the laws of their country or region (e.g., under 16 in the EEA/UK), should use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. The Provider does not intentionally collect personal information from children for whom parental consent is required by law.

11. Consent for Recording and Sharing

When you use the App to record, transcribe, translate, save, share, or export conversations, lectures, meetings, classes, etc., you are responsible for notifying relevant parties, obtaining consent, observing confidentiality obligations and the rules of your organization, and complying with applicable laws.

12. Changes to This Policy

The Provider may revise this Privacy Policy as necessary. In the event of material changes, we will notify you through in-app displays or on our website. If you use the App after the changes, you will be deemed to have agreed to the revised content.
